Thus, Zero <strong>Auto</strong>motive was born, driven by a vision to<br />
transform diesel Land Cruisers into high-performance<br />
electric vehicles capable of withstanding the rigors of<br />
mining environments.<br />
Powerful electric drive train<br />
At the heart of Zero <strong>Auto</strong>motive’s conversions lies a<br />
powerful 200 kW, 1200 Nm permanent magnet motor,<br />
delivering exceptional torque and performance in the<br />
challenging conditions of underground mines. Paired<br />
with Toshiba LTO batteries – the safest batteries in the<br />
world – each conversion boasts a remarkable 20,000<br />
cycles to 70 per cent capacity, equating to a decade<br />
of reliable operation. This formidable combination<br />
ensures that the company’s electric Land Cruisers not<br />
only meet but exceed the rigorous demands of the<br />
mining industry.<br />
Innovative protection systems<br />
To further enhance the durability and longevity of<br />
its conversions, Zero <strong>Auto</strong>motive has developed the<br />
Hazardous Environment Protection System (HEPS).<br />
Specifically designed to shield the electric drivetrain and<br />
Land Cruiser chassis from corrosion, HEPS represents<br />
a significant advancement in vehicle protection<br />
technology. By combining specialised coatings,<br />
corrosion-resistant materials, and advanced sealing<br />
techniques, HEPS ensures that Zero <strong>Auto</strong>motive’s<br />
conversions maintain peak performance even in the<br />
harshest mining environments.<br />
Proven performance in the field<br />
With five converted Land Cruisers currently in operation<br />
at mine sites run by industry giants Barminco and BHP<br />
across Australia, the company has already proven the<br />
reliability and effectiveness of its conversions.<br />
