Monash Student Association (Clayton) Incorporated ANNUAL ELECTIONS Monday 21 September - Thursday 25 September 2015 NOTICE OF ELECTIONS Nominations for the following positions will open at 9am on Wednesday 19 August 2015 and close at 5pm on Friday 28 August 2015. Positions to be elected Office Bearer positions: President Treasurer Secretary Disabilities and Carers Officer Education (Academic Affairs) Officer Education (Public Affairs) Officer Welfare Officer Women’s Officer Male Queer Officer Female Queer Officer Environment & Social Justice Officer Indigenous Officer Activities Officer Lot’s Wife Editor/s Monash Student Council and Committees: Monash Student Council (5 General Representatives) Women’s Affairs Collective (5 Members) Student Affairs Committee (10 Members) National Union of Students: 7 Delegate positions These elections are conducted using optional preferential voting, and in accordance with other provisions as required under the MSA Election Regulations (eg. only women can vote for the Women’s Officer position). Nomination forms will be available at the MSA office, or by telephoning or writing to MSA, or via the internet at www.msa. monash.edu/elections Nominations open at 9am on Wednesday 19 August and close at 5pm Friday 28 August 2015. Copies of the regulations governing the election are available from the MSA office or via the internet at www.msa.monash.edu/elections All students wishing to register for SMS and email alerts of matters relating to the elections should email their contact details to the Returning Officer from their student email account. Voting Polling for the MSA elections will be 21 – 24 September 2015, with the polling times and places as follows: The main polling place will be open in the Campus Centre foyer Monday 21 September Tuesday 22 September Wednesday 23 September Thursday 24 September foyer Monday 21 September Thursday 24 September 9.30am – 4.30pm 9.30am – 6.00pm 9.30am – 4.30pm 9.30pm – 4.30pm Remote polling will be open in the Hargrave-Andrew Library 11.30am – 2.30pm 11.30am – 2.30pm And at the foyer 21 Ancora Imparo Way (Yulendj Indigenous Engagement Unit) Wednesday 23 September 11.30am – 2.30pm Postal votes are possible for those students unable to attend the election in person. Applications will be available online or at the MSA. Candidates’ Forum One or more Candidates’ Forums may be held in the lead up to the Annual Elections, in line with the Election Regulations. Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the position of Organiser for any Candidates’ Forum may be received by the Returning Officer in writing from 9am on Wednesday 19 August until 5pm Friday 28 August 2015. Any such EOI must include a student’s name, student number and contact details and should be submitted to the locked box at the MSA front counter.
