There is plenty to do around
Fairlie in Winter
Musterer’s Accommodation complex
offers well-appointed, private, selfcontained
options, equipped with
everything you need for a relaxed stay.
Enjoy the beauty of the winter rays, or
marvel at the night sky with the option
of a fresh water hot tub.
Owner/operator hosts Murray and
Jackie have a real passion and deep
knowledge of the area, coupled with
a love of the natural environment.
Together with their staff they aim
to deliver guests an outstanding
experience.
Autumn and winter offer new
viewpoints for the Fairlie area.
Depending on the weather there are
still a lot of outdoor activities you can
do – skiing, golf, biking, and plan now
if you would like to participate in the
Mackenzie Half Marathon on Saturday
the 20th of July.
We cannot forget the indoor activities
as you do not want to miss the Fairlie
Heritage Museum, where you can stop
in for a quick cuppa on the way through
or while staying over.
Down the road a short distance is
Three Creeks at Burkes Pass, which
feedback says is absolutely amazing
and a location you must stop at when
travelling through the Mackenzie with
their array of collectibles.
Another must stop at location is The
Garage Art Gallery in Kimbell, which
features NZ artists. It is well worth a
visit as well.
Whether providing a long or a short
stay for couple’s, families or friends,
or a venue for a corporate retreat,
Musterer’s Accommodation Fairlie is
not just a night’s accommodation, it
is a destination. A place you will want
to stay longer, share with friends, and
come back to, time and again.
Fairlie known as the rural giant
Fairlie is known as the ‘Gateway to
the Mackenzie Country’ and for it’s
delicious award winning pies. This town
has the personality of a rural giant and
is the base for many travellers during
the winter ski season for Mt Dobson
(affectionately known as ‘Dobo’)
and Roundhill.
The Mackenzie Country is named
after James Mackenzie, the legendary
Scottish sheep rustler who once
roamed the hills. There is a memorial to
him in Fairlie’s town centre.
For those who prefer other activities
than the ski slopes, you can stay in town
and visit the Fairlie Heritage Museum.
This museum reflects the bygone days
of life in rural New Zealand.
There is also the Kimbell Garage
Gallery, where International Wilderness
Artist, Nathanael Provis, captures
