A&P Highland show April 1st in Fairlie
The 126th Mackenzie A&P Highland
Show will be held on Easter Monday,
the 1st of April 2024, at the Fairlie
Showgrounds and is the largest one
day show in New Zealand.
A fun family day out with something for
everyone for the cost of a movie! There
is sheep shearing, a live sheep auction,
sheep dog trials, wood chopping, agrisports,
fencing, the NZ Kennel Club,
Highland dancing and music, a pet tent
and an exhibition of rare animal breeds.
The Barwood stage, sponsored by
Fairlie Early Learners, will feature Josh
Grimaldi, Eddie Simon Music and the
Jae Bedford School of Entertainment.
There are all of the standard A&P
animals and competitions... the Grand
Parade is well worth watching and it
is followed by the Fairlie Four Square
lolly scramble. There will also be a large
enjoy skiing and
a cozy country
pub in Kimbell
Enjoy visiting Kimbell this winter, with
a ski field at your door step and a pub
that “doesn’t come more classic in
the South Island.” Kimbell is home to
the historic Silverstream Hotel, “a true
icon” among the best South Island
pubs listed by Neat Places.
Surrounded by the Southern Alps, with
easy access to ski areas, cycle tracks,
rivers, and lakes, Kimbell is a great
winter destination and stop-over at the
base of Mt Dobson.
