CEM7103 Financial management and taxation in the construction industry<br />

CEX7104 Estimating, tendering and marketing in the construction industry<br />

CEM7106 Law and the construction industry<br />

CEX7107 Construction productivity and quantitative techniques<br />

CEX7108 Cost control and cash flow in the construction industry<br />

CEX7109 Management <strong>of</strong> the design phase and quality control<br />

CEX7112 Management information systems for the construction industry<br />

Optional Courses<br />

In order to complete the Postgraduate Diploma, students would be required to <strong>of</strong>fer a minimum <strong>of</strong><br />

two courses from the optional courses given below:<br />

Stand Alone Courses<br />

Applicants <strong>of</strong>fering courses from the PG Diploma in Technology (Construction Management)<br />

programme, as Stand-Alone courses, need to fulfil the requirements indicated below:<br />

CEX7101, CEX7108, CEX7111 Degree in civil/mechanical engineering or equivalent<br />

CEM7102, CEM7103, CEX7104, CEX7105, CEM7106,<br />

Adequate experience in construction industry<br />

CEX7110, CEX7112 Degree in civil engineering or equivalent<br />

Master <strong>of</strong> Technology in Construction Management<br />

Those who successfully complete all the requirements <strong>of</strong> the Postgraduate Diploma programme in<br />

Construction Management may proceed to the Master <strong>of</strong> Technology programme, <strong>of</strong>fering the<br />

following course under the Research Option.<br />

CEY7C14 Research project<br />

<strong>The</strong> student should undertake a comprehensive research study and submit a Dissertation in order to<br />

successfully complete the Research Project <strong>of</strong> 36 credits weightage. This should be done under close<br />

guidance <strong>of</strong> an academic supervisor assigned by the Department.<br />
