Award <strong>of</strong> classes in Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Industrial Studies Degree [Extracts from relevant Rules and<br />
Regulations]<br />
3. Award <strong>of</strong> the Degree<br />
3.1. A candidate who satisfies the requirements for the award <strong>of</strong> the Degree <strong>of</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Industrial Studies as<br />
specified in Section 3 <strong>of</strong> the Regulations, and applies for the award <strong>of</strong> the Degree <strong>of</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Industrial<br />
Studies in the prescribed form shall be awarded such Degree either with:<br />
First Class Honours, or<br />
Second Class Honours (Upper Division), or<br />
Second Class Honours (Lower Division), or<br />
Pass, in accordance with the guidelines given in Section 3.4.<br />
3.4 A candidate who has satisfied the conditions for the award <strong>of</strong> the Degree <strong>of</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Industrial Studies<br />
in accordance with Regulation 3.1 shall be allotted Grade Points Values (GPV) in respect <strong>of</strong> the courses at<br />
levels 5 and 6 with higher grades, equivalent to a total <strong>of</strong> 72 credits, that shall include all compulsory<br />
courses at levels 5 and 6, if applicable. In situations where 72 credits cannot be obtained exactly, the<br />
nearest higher value to 72 credits shall be taken.<br />
2 points per credit for grade C<br />
2.3 points per credit for C+<br />
2.7 points per credit for grade B-<br />
3 point per credit for grade B<br />
3.3 points per credit for grade B+<br />
3.7 points per credit for grade A-<br />
4 points per credit for grades A and A+<br />
<strong>The</strong> Grade Point Average (GPA) shall be computed as follows:<br />
3.5 A candidate shall be awarded the Degree <strong>of</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Technology (Engineering) according to the GPA<br />
obtained as follows:<br />
3.00 > GPA 2.00: Pass<br />
3.30 > GPA 3.00: Second Class Honours (Lower Division)<br />
3.70 > GPA 3.30: Second Class Honours (Upper Division)<br />
GPA 3.70: First Class Honours<br />
3.6 If the credits gained in any category exceed the maximum limit shown in section 3.1 <strong>of</strong> the Regulation<br />
for the Award <strong>of</strong> the Degree <strong>of</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Technology (Engineering), only such maxima shown in the<br />
section 3.1 <strong>of</strong> the Regulation shall be used in computing the total points for the award <strong>of</strong> the classes.<br />
