Foreword
As always, the 2012/2013 Subsidy Guide is once again being
published this spring. The Subsidy Guides contains all subsidy
offers designed to help you to implement your entrepreneurial
project. Just like in previous years, we have compiled the Subsidy
Guide in the tried-and-tested format in co-operation with
the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research,
the commercial banks active in Berlin as well as further
organisations who bear responsibility for Berlin as a centre for
business. We are confident that the Subsidy Guide with its tips
and information related to business subsidies and support in
Berlin will once again serve as an important reference document
for you.
Not least in view of the current economic prospects, the information
and knowledge concerning the different financing
and support or subsidy options are particularly important for
small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The importance
of the Subsidy Guide can hence hardly be overrated.
Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) traditionally focuses on SMEs,

instruments. In addition to the important common task “improvement
of regional economic structure” that is designed

to promote investment, IBB offers several programmes that
are specially tailored to the needs of technology companies.
The “Pro FIT” programme, for instance, can be used to finance
promising projects during all phases of the innovation process,
from research to market introduction. “Berlin Innovative
Loan” is another programme for innovative SMEs under which
loans of up to a maximum of EUR 500,000 are available for
investment and working capital. The “Innovation assistant”
programme is another offer specifically for technology companies.
Support is also offered for innovative projects by SMEs
in the technology sector pursued by graduates at universities
and universities of applied sciences.
Needless to say that IBB is also active outside the above-mentioned
clusters where it offers its customers standardised
support and subsidy products while processing applications
smoothly and with no red tape. IBB’s general goal is to offer
