places, which make the greatest
contribution to Turkey's culture.
Culture centers in Istanbul, declared
as the 2010 Cultural Capital of Europe, are dominant in the list. Here are
the Top 10 culture venues in Turkey.

Istanbul to Host World Mayors' Summit
The 4th World Mayors' Summit will take place in Istanbul on April 12th and
15th. Releasing a statement, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality said that
United Nations Secretary-General Ban-Ki Moon, Spanish Industry,
Commerce & Tourism Minister Joan Clos and Greek Health & Social
Solidarity Minister Dimitrios Avramopoulos were expected to attend the
summit as speakers. Istanbul will host 196 mayors from several countries
and CEOs of 24 international organizations during the summit. The summit
will end with a final declaration.

from April 4 to 30 in
Turkish capital Ankara.
Festival that is organized
by Sevda Cenap And
Music Foundation will
host artists from Spain,
France, the USA, Austria, Sweden, Russia, Germany, Israel, UK, Turkish
Republic of Northern Cyprus and Uruguay, as well as Turkish artists. The
opening of the musical festival will be made by Hacettepe (University)
Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by 19 year old Russian violin Sergei
Dogadin. Bilkent (University) Symphony Orchestra will give the closing concert
of the festival. The festival program includes performances by the
Musica Viva Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Alexander Rudin, and
the legendary Paco de Lucia Sextet. Renown radio band from Britain "The
Voice of BBC Singers", the gospel community from the USA "Sweet Honey
in the Rock", "Paco de Lucia" and his band, and "Abba Gold" that carries on
the legend of Abba, are also included in the festival program. French artist
Georges Moustaki and his band who are known for their songs that are also
translated in Turkish, will be among the guests of the 'nostalgia concerts.'

Meptur Awarded at M&IT Industry Awards

Meptur Tourism is awarded “2007 Silver Award” in the Best Destination
Management Company category at the Meeting and Incentive Travel
Industry Awards in London on the 19th of February.
Winning this award on the 30th Anniversary year of Meptur made it even
more significant and brought additional joy and pride to all its members.
The M&IT Industry Awards are voted by the readers of the "M&IT" Magazine
which is considered to be the events industry's oldest, best established and
most prestigious magazine. It is through the results of a truly democratic
process where thousands of industry professionals, both from trade and
end user corporations, vote for their favorite suppliers from all around the
world and recognize excellence.

Barcelo Choose FTNNEWS Best in Turkey
Barcelo Hotels organized a special dinner at Barcelo Eresin Topkapi Hotel
in Istanbul. Starting with a cocktail, the night continued with dinner. At the
night, best travel agencies according to their performances were honored
by an award.
Focus on Travel News (FTNNEWS) is awarded by the Best Online English
Tourism Newsletter Award. Ozgur Tore, Managing Editor of FTNNEWS
received the award from Barcelo executives. Istanbul Convention and
Visitors Bureau (ICVB) also received a special award. General Manager of
ICVB; Handan Boyce attended the event and took the award from Barcelo
executives. Travel Agencies received award from Barcelo Eresin Topkapi
Hotel are; Dorak Tours, Ulusoy Travel Center, Camino Tour, Öger Tour,
Neon Tours, Karavan Travel, Anadol Turizm, Mercan Turizm, FHS Turizm
