elaborate ideas on them. This leads you to new designs. The same thing is
true for clothes, for jeweler, for everything I do. Alongside all this, if you
spend all your time producing things and working very hard you begin to get
closer to the results you would like to achieve. You do not of course think you
are going to create a synthesis while you are doing all this. But then you
realize that you have created a new synthesis. I have never considered
myself an orientalist. I do not make authentic clothes, but I use authentic
fabrics. I incorporate authentic fabrics into designs that are much more simple,
uncluttered and with plain lines. Looked at from this point of view you
may be right in using the term fusion. Still, I would not like to limit what I am
doing to this term. I do not want to place what I do in this or that current. I
have created my own style. There are no tags on any of the objects I choose
to define as art objects, I choose to define as art objects, but people can easily
see that it is my work.
Gonul Paksoy says here that she has little to do with fashion and that she is
not a fashion designer and yet she designs something and in doing so She
conceives it as a work of Art.
