Progressive”. <strong>The</strong> central <strong>in</strong>quiry <strong>of</strong> the<br />

discussion asked: where do we draw the<br />

l<strong>in</strong>e when us<strong>in</strong>g animals (dead and alive)<br />

<strong>in</strong> artwork? Who is responsible for draw<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the l<strong>in</strong>e <strong>in</strong> the first place, and how may<br />

we, as both artists and viewers, serve to<br />

respect it?<br />

I believe that the abuse, torture and death <strong>of</strong> any<br />

be<strong>in</strong>g is unacceptable, especially when not<br />

<strong>in</strong>dispensible. But I do not <strong>in</strong> pr<strong>in</strong>ciple object to<br />

works <strong>of</strong> art <strong>in</strong>volv<strong>in</strong>g the presence <strong>of</strong> animals, as<br />

long as they are <strong>of</strong> course treated with dignity and<br />

with an underly<strong>in</strong>g respect for life. However, I f<strong>in</strong>d it<br />

particularly troubl<strong>in</strong>g that art, <strong>in</strong> the aim <strong>of</strong><br />

creat<strong>in</strong>g discussion at all costs may<br />

simultaneously contribute to brutality.<br />

and objects <strong>in</strong> consideration <strong>of</strong> the ego. My work<br />

will cont<strong>in</strong>ue to explore the domestic sphere as<br />

well as the urban one. <strong>The</strong> aesthetic <strong>of</strong> the<br />

f<strong>in</strong>ished works will be different, but my enquiry on<br />

society and men will be further explored.<br />
