Mini meets Maxi<br />

One of the smallest parts made in the POLYTEC GROUP measures<br />

only a few centimetres in length, whilst one of the largest,<br />

weighs in at a massive 120 kg. Th<strong>is</strong> compar<strong>is</strong>on between the<br />

tiny VW Eos air vents made by Polytec Automotive Systems and<br />

the huge cabin roof for the Iveco Stral<strong>is</strong>, made by Polytec Automotive<br />

Composites Div<strong>is</strong>ion, serves to show the diverse range<br />

of components that the POLYTEC GROUP can provide.<br />

Success in Series<br />

The success story of the POLYTEC GROUP cylinder <strong>head</strong> covers<br />

continues. In September 2006, the VW Group nominated POLY-<br />

TEC as the serial supplier of cylinder <strong>head</strong> covers for the new<br />

common rail generation of engines. POLYTEC, selected because<br />

of its technical excellence and its fl exibility, will supply more than<br />

1.1 million <strong>head</strong> covers for the 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre common rail<br />

engines, generating sales of EUR 19.5 million per year. Th<strong>is</strong> contract<br />

represents the largest single order won in 2006. “Our extensive<br />

know-how, particularly in the integration of highly effective<br />

fi ne oil separators and our low production costs were signifi cant<br />

<strong>is</strong>sues for VW”, says Reinhard Urmann, Member of the Management<br />

Board of POLYTEC GROUP, who <strong>is</strong> responsible for the Automotive<br />

Systems Div<strong>is</strong>ion.<br />
