Prevention Services Program
CLINIC LENGTH
The Clinic is approximately 3.5 hours in length and requires 100% attendance.
It is recommended that this program be delivered on weekday evenings.
MINIMUM AGE TO ATTEND
A participant must be a minimum of 16 years of age to attend.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Hockey Canada has mandated that all coaches (including Assistant Coaches) must attend the program. Any
member of a Local Minor Hockey Association Executive who sits on or is involved with any fact-finding, dispute
resolution, hearing etc. must also have attended the program. All Association Executives, Team Officials, and
Parents, regardless of nature or scope of involvement, are strongly encouraged to attend the program. In
addition, all carded Team Officials in the OMHA must have a minimum of Prevention Services Certification in
addition to all other certification appropriate to their position by 31 December, 2005.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS
The Registration Fee is $13.50 (includes GST) per participant. Workshops require minimum attendance of 25
and a maximum of 40. The Host Centre may increase cost to participants to recover presentation costs.
Workshops must be operated on a cost-recovery basis and not as a source of revenue generation for the Host
Centre. The Host Centre is responsible for the collection of all registration fees from participants, and paying all
incidental costs.
WHAT DO WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE?
Participants successfully completing the program will receive:
• Participant Manual/Workbook
• Prevention Services Wallet Card indicating Certification
• Prevention Services (Speak Out) Pin
EXPIRATION
Speak Out! Certification does not have an expiry date.
