Annual Report for the year 2011-12
Introduction
The oldest Church in the state capital – Christ Church - which
has completed 152 years, has the responsibility of setting a good
example for other churches. (This Church also has the distinction
of having more members than any other church in the Madhya
Kerala Diocese.)
During 2011-2012, the church could fulfill its responsibilities
as a leading church because of the congregation’s full support
to the committee and its decisions. Much has been accomplished,
but much still remains to be done. The present committee
assumed office in July 2011. It is a matter of great satisfaction
that since then all decisions of the committee were unanimous.
In future also, we are duty bound to take every step with a sense
of responsibility, and keeping in mind the noble traditions of
the Church. But if we do make mistakes, we are always willing
to be corrected.
The aims and activities that were emphasized by our parish in
the past are best expressed in the following quote from the
Annual report for 2010-11: “….through the various activities
of the church during 2010-11 we could spend more for others
outside our church than what we spent for ourselves”. God
helped us to extend our assistance to other churches. We continue
to fulfill this duty earnestly, according to God’s will. But during
2011-2012 we have given greater emphasis to the refurbishment
and maintenance of our 152-year-old church building and other
related highly expensive projects. I think this emphasis must
continue in the near future too.

Section A - Divine Services in the Church
The order and timings of the Divine Services continued this
year as in the previous year. The order of services in Tamil,
English and Malayalam are given below:
a. Sunday
Tamil - 06.15 a.m
(Holy Communion Service only on the 1st Sunday)
English - 07. 15 a.m.
(Holy Communion Service on all Sundays except 4th Sunday)
Malayalam - 09.45 a.m.
(Holy Communion Service on all Sundays except 2nd Sunday)
b. Friday
Malayalam - 07.30 a.m.
(Holy Communion Service)
c. Zion Hall, Nanthencode
Malayalam – 7.00 a.m.
(Holy Communion Service 2nd and 4th Sundays)
