Sawyer’s Property<br />

The status quo as mentioned in the earlier report continues,<br />

without any fresh hearings during the year under report.<br />

Parking Area<br />

As reported earlier, the status quo order of the Kerala High Court<br />

remains.<br />

Olivet Hall and Zion Hall<br />

Our suggestion that the ownership of the Olivet Hall be vested<br />

with Marthoma <strong>Church</strong>, Pattoor, and that of the Nanthencode<br />

Zion Hall with <strong>Christ</strong> <strong>Church</strong>, has been accepted by our Diocese<br />

in principle. The matter is under the consideration of the<br />

Marthoma Metropolitan.<br />

Consecration of the New Muttathara <strong>Church</strong><br />

The Immanuel Prayer Hall, established in 1932, was renamed<br />

as Immanuel <strong>CSI</strong> <strong>Church</strong> and celebrated its platinum jubilee in<br />

2007. <strong>Christ</strong> <strong>Church</strong>, as part of its sesquicentennial celebrations,<br />

undertook the task of reconstruction of the <strong>Church</strong> in 2008.<br />

Though the construction could not be completed in the jubilee<br />

year, the work was completed in <strong>2011</strong> and the church was<br />

consecrated on 6th November <strong>2011</strong> by our Bishop, the Rt. Rev.<br />

Thomas K. Oommen. There was whole-hearted cooperation and<br />

support to the church construction from the members of <strong>Christ</strong><br />

<strong>Church</strong>. But there are a few who deserve to be specially thanked<br />

for their contribution, dedication and hard work. These include<br />

Mr. Eipe Kuruvilla, Mr. John Kurien, Er. Jacob Thomas (Jr),<br />

Arch. Rueben D. Koshy, and Mr. K.J. George. Er. Jacob Thomas<br />

and Arch. Reuben D. Koshy were felicitated by the Bishop<br />

during the consecration ceremony of the new church.<br />

The expenses of the <strong>Church</strong> construction were as follows:<br />

a. <strong>Christ</strong> <strong>Church</strong> Contribution Rs. 15,45,206<br />

<strong>Report</strong> and <strong>Annual</strong> Statement of Accounts <strong>2011</strong>-20<strong>12</strong><br />

b. Muttathara <strong>Church</strong> Contribution Rs. 1,78,838<br />

Total Rs. 17,24,044<br />

Section D: Celebrations and Other Programmes<br />

Parish Get-together<br />

September 24, Saturday was a memorable day for the church.<br />

The Parish Get-together began at 04.30 p.m. with games and<br />

outdoor activities and it ended at 08.30 p.m. with cultural<br />

programmes, official meeting and dinner. All organizations of<br />

the <strong>Church</strong> actively participated. Around 700 parishioners were<br />

present. Special thanks are due to Mr. Saji Sam George, Mr.<br />

Ebby Kuruvilla, Mrs. Reena Kurian, and Dr. (Mrs) Jeena K.<br />

Jacob, who were the conveners of the programme.<br />

Harvest Festival<br />

On Dec 4th <strong>2011</strong>, after the combined Holy Communion Service<br />

at 07.15 a.m., the <strong>2011</strong> Harvest Festival commenced at 10.00<br />

a.m. The auction of items continued up to 07.30 p.m.<br />

Stalls of <strong>Church</strong> Organizations, including one of Tamil<br />

worshippers, gave a festival air to the church compound. More<br />

than 500 thanksgiving covers were collected during the worship<br />

service in the <strong>Church</strong>. More members than usual participated<br />

enthusiastically in the auction. Thanksgiving covers continued<br />

to be received till the middle of January.<br />

Breakfast, lunch and tea were provided to all at subsidized rates,<br />

as usual. The total income from the Harvest Festival was Rs.<br />

19,01,435/- and the total expenditure was Rs. 2,53,286/-. Item<br />

wise details are given below:<br />
