Sawyer’s Property
The status quo as mentioned in the earlier report continues,
without any fresh hearings during the year under report.
Parking Area
As reported earlier, the status quo order of the Kerala High Court
remains.
Olivet Hall and Zion Hall
Our suggestion that the ownership of the Olivet Hall be vested
with Marthoma Church, Pattoor, and that of the Nanthencode
Zion Hall with Christ Church, has been accepted by our Diocese
in principle. The matter is under the consideration of the
Marthoma Metropolitan.
Consecration of the New Muttathara Church
The Immanuel Prayer Hall, established in 1932, was renamed
as Immanuel CSI Church and celebrated its platinum jubilee in
2007. Christ Church, as part of its sesquicentennial celebrations,
undertook the task of reconstruction of the Church in 2008.
Though the construction could not be completed in the jubilee
year, the work was completed in 2011 and the church was
consecrated on 6th November 2011 by our Bishop, the Rt. Rev.
Thomas K. Oommen. There was whole-hearted cooperation and
support to the church construction from the members of Christ
Church. But there are a few who deserve to be specially thanked
for their contribution, dedication and hard work. These include
Mr. Eipe Kuruvilla, Mr. John Kurien, Er. Jacob Thomas (Jr),
Arch. Rueben D. Koshy, and Mr. K.J. George. Er. Jacob Thomas
and Arch. Reuben D. Koshy were felicitated by the Bishop
during the consecration ceremony of the new church.
The expenses of the Church construction were as follows:

Section D: Celebrations and Other Programmes
Parish Get-together
September 24, Saturday was a memorable day for the church.
The Parish Get-together began at 04.30 p.m. with games and
outdoor activities and it ended at 08.30 p.m. with cultural
programmes, official meeting and dinner. All organizations of
the Church actively participated. Around 700 parishioners were
present. Special thanks are due to Mr. Saji Sam George, Mr.
Ebby Kuruvilla, Mrs. Reena Kurian, and Dr. (Mrs) Jeena K.
Jacob, who were the conveners of the programme.
Harvest Festival
On Dec 4th 2011, after the combined Holy Communion Service
at 07.15 a.m., the 2011 Harvest Festival commenced at 10.00
a.m. The auction of items continued up to 07.30 p.m.
Stalls of Church Organizations, including one of Tamil
worshippers, gave a festival air to the church compound. More
than 500 thanksgiving covers were collected during the worship
service in the Church. More members than usual participated
enthusiastically in the auction. Thanksgiving covers continued
to be received till the middle of January.
Breakfast, lunch and tea were provided to all at subsidized rates,
as usual. The total income from the Harvest Festival was Rs.
19,01,435/- and the total expenditure was Rs. 2,53,286/-. Item
wise details are given below:
