11. TGT RIGHT key ⎯ Press.<br />

12. Target ⎯ Perform a right pedal turn at no<br />

more than 5° per second to position<br />

target greater than 90° to the left of<br />

helicopter.<br />

13. TGT LEFT ⎯ Press.<br />

14. STORE key ⎯ Press to load these<br />

values into nonvolatile memory, as<br />

desired.<br />

15. MMS mode select switch ⎯ PREPNT.<br />

Prepoint the target with wide field of view<br />

selected and verify airborne cal accuracy<br />

by verifying that the target is within<br />

narrow field of view area.<br />

NOTE<br />

• Failure of airborne cal are usually very<br />

obvious. When step 15 is completed and<br />

the target is not even close, sequence<br />

through the flight plan back to correct<br />

target and repeat airborne cal beginning<br />

at step 3.<br />

• If step 15 reveals the target is close but<br />

not within narrow FOV or if an azimuth<br />

error exists but elevation is good, an<br />

EGI heading error could be the cause. In<br />

this event, repeat the entire airborne cal<br />

beginning at step 1.<br />

1. MMS mode select switch ⎯ PREFLT.<br />

2. SETUP key ⎯ Press.<br />

3. MDC key ⎯ Press to ON.<br />
