H. i. 'DIANE' - Has glowing red flowers in January-
February. The fragrant flowers are borne all over the stems.
The fall color is among the finest of any witch hazel with its

H. i. 'EARLY BRIGHT' - Wow! What fragrance! H.
'Early Bright' has small orange-yellow flowers in January.
The flowers aren't very exciting but the fragrance is probably
the best of any hamamelis we've seen.

H. i. 'FIRE CHARM' - Has soft red witch hazel flowers.
This hamamelis looks somewhat like H. 'Ruby Glow' but has a
round leaf and lighter colored flowers. Nice red-orange fall

H. i. 'JELENA' - Our big plant has bloomed off and on
all summer for the last several years and just kept blooming
most of the winter. The flowers are coppery-orange.

any hamamelis. Our plants produce very light yellow flowers

H. i. 'MOONLIGHT' - Has soft yellow flowers in
January. The flowers are among the lightest of any of

H. 'GIMBORNS PERFUME' - Named at the Gimborn
Arboretum, Doorn, Holland. May be from the same seed
batch as H. 'Sunburst'. The twisted flowers are pale yellow

H. v. 'LOMBART'S WEEPING' is so unusual it's almost
never offered in catalogs. This plant is so strongly weeping it
doesn't form a shrub but more like a mound. Grow on a
mound or over a rack wall so it can spill over. The flowers are

H. i. 'PRIMAVERA' - Broad, light yellow petals on this
variety from Belgium. Heavy flowering. One of the very

H. v. 'PURPUREA' - The typical H. vernalis has yellow
flowers and yellow fall foliage. This variety has bright purple
flowers. The shrub is worth growing for the flowers let alone

H. i. 'RUBY GLOW' - Medium red flowers with very

H. i. 'SUNBURST' - Has the brightest yellow flowers of
any hamamelis yet. The brilliant flowers are borne in heavy
clusters. Like H. 'Primavera' but much brighter yellow
flowers. H. 'Arnold Promise' is a very nice plant, but is
positively dull when compared to 'Sunburst'.

H. i. 'WINTER BEAUTY' - This clone has yelloworange
flowers that are lighter than H. Jelena.

H. j. 'ZUCCARINIANA' - Flowers are light yellow and
have very twisted petals in February in our garden.

HEDYCHIUM 'TARA' - Probably the only ginger (the
spice) that blooms early enough to actually flower in our
garden. Many of the hedychium species we've tried will
bloom for 2 minutes in November and will be puny at that. H.
'Tara' has beautiful light orange flowers in late august-
September. The plans are upright with narrow leaves. This
perennial can make a strking plant for the tropical look.

HELLEBORUS -
H. ARGUTIFOLIUS 'PACIFIC FROST'. This
selection of H. argutifolius comes from British Columbia and
is covered with pink spots on the gray green leaves in the
spring. During summer the splased leaves will be creamy
white with a green back grouns. The flowers are greenish
color on long stalks in early spring.

H. HYBRIDIS 'APRICOT' .Lovely soft shades of
yellow, pink, peach and apricot. 1 gal. $ 18.00
H. HYBRIDIS DOUBLE - We've wanted this plant for
ourselves for years. We bought some seedlings from several
different nurseries and all were poor colored singles. We
found these plants that are white or soft pink and they have all
bloomed, so we can assure you they will bloom as doubles.
We only get a small number of plants and the wholesale price
is high hence the high price.

H. 'BLACK SLATE'. These are the darkest black
flowers of any of the hellebores. We only have a small
number available. Actually, we have quite a few plants but
they always sell faster than any other color.

H. 'PICOTEE' - Flowers purple with a white edge.

H. 'YELLOW-' This fine yellow hellebore has a
beautiful deep red center. These plants come from NW
Garden Nursery and are part of their excellent breeding

H. NIGER - The Christmas Rose. Two inch white
flowers in March - April. Plants love our shaded (in summer)
south facing house foundation wall. Plants like to grow
adjacent to concrete (lime ?). Dark green foliage.

H. STERNII 'ASHWOOD' .This hybrid has some of
the lovliest silver foliage of any hellebore. the plants will be
small growing to maybe 12" tall. The stems are purple which
offsets the serrated silver leaves. The flowers are borne on tall
stems that lift the chartreuse flowers above the foliage.

HEMEROCALLIS 'CORKY'. This hybrid daylily is
not the daylily breeder's kind of flowers. We see so many
daylilies that have huge gawdy overblown flowers (sorry,
daylilly collectors). H 'Corky' is opposite in that flowers are
small (2") and very simple looking like a species. The stems
are dark purple and at 18" will get the yellow flowers above
