PEOPLE New CEO at Volvo ce Mr Pat Olney has been appointed the new CEO of Volvo Construciton Equipment. Pat has an extensive experience spanning 17 years in the construction equipment industry, with 10 of these in senior management roles within Volvo CE. During 2001–2004 Pat was the CFO of Volvo CE, and was then appointed President of Volvo Motor Graders, a position he held until becoming President of Volvo Road Machinery in 2007. Since 2009 he has been Executive Vice President and Head of Operations at Volvo CE. This position includes all global manufacturing as well as global purchasing. Prior to joining Volvo he held various positions at Price Waterhouse. Pat said: “This is an exciting time in our industry and in Volvo CE in particular. I am honoured to have the opportunity to continue the implementation of our Fit for the Future strategy which has been very successful so far.” “I am very pleased with Pat Olney as my successor. He has a long and extensive experience in the construction equipment industry and has been instrumental in putting Volvo CE’s new strategy in place. He has delivered very well as Executive Vice President of Global Operations and in his previous positions”, said Olof Persson who leaves Volvo CE to take up a new position as deputy CEO of AB Volvo from 1 May and the role as President and CEO of AB Volvo as of 1 st September. 40 April 2011 New Director at groeneveld Groeneveld Transport Efficiency in Gorinchem (NL), leading manufacturer of automatic greasing systems, oil management systems and active safety devices, has appointed Michel Kwetters to the position of Director of Sales Operations. In this position, Michel will be responsible for the activities in countries where Groeneveld is represented by independent importers and agents. Groeneveld, which is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, has company-owned subsidiaries in more than 20 countries around the globe, from Europe to Australia, New Zealand and North and South America. In addition the company is represented by independent importers in various countries in Central and Eastern Europe and in the Middle East. Appointing Michel to the position of Director of Sales Operations will allow the company to provide optimal support for these importers and the customers in those countries, and to give these markets the attention they deserve. Michel has a business economics background and worked for BMB in Veen (NL), an internationally operating electronics company, where his last position was Director of Sales & Marketing. Morgan sindall appoints London MD Morgan Sindall has underlined its commitment to expanding its presence in the capital with the appointment of Peter Jacobs as regional managing director for London. Peter has a substantial track record of achievement in the UK construction industry and over the last 35 years has been responsible for the delivery of a number of key London projects for major customers including Lend Lease, Stanhope and Land Securities. Prior to joining Morgan Sindall, Peter spent 24 years at Bovis Lend Lease where he was a director for 10 years. His latest role was as delivery director for the £1.4 billion Olympics Athletes Village. His new position will involve managing and growing the Morgan Sindall business in London. Peter, who is currently senior vice president of The Chartered Institute of Building, said: “London is one of the great cities of the world and despite all the challenges posed by a slow economy, it remains a desirable and secure location.
