Dzintari Forest park
The climate and temperatures in Jurmala are
changable, air contains much ozon and mineral
items – salt, brome and iodine. The climate
strengthens young body, improves metabilism
and blood contents, as well as appetite and
sleeping, it also rejuvenates wellbeing after a
school year and raises immunity.
BeAch
26 km long white sand beach is a great place
where to relax in any season spending great
time with children! On the seacoast the water
is shallow and safe for children building sand
castles, learning to swim and playing.
During autumn storms amber stones and
shells are flushed out on the beach. In the end

of January and in the beginning of February
usually the gulf of Riga freezes over and in
spring large ice hills form on the beach and
gives joy to everyone.
The beach has all the necessary facilities: children
playgrounds, benches, cabines, football and
volleyball pitches, as well as trails to the beach for
baby carriages and disabled. Here you can rent
water bicycles and spend time in beach cafes.
Over Majori and Jaunķemeri beaches a Blue
Flag flies and attests of clean and safe beach
with clean water that is being tested every
week. The first medical aid is available in all
beach lifeguard stations in Bulduri, Dzintari (in
summer), Majori, Dubulti, Melluzi, Kauguri
and Jaunkemeri.
Jurmala is one of the ideal places for children recreation, starting from baby
age. Clear sea air has a very good influence on a child’s organism, lungs and
skin as it doesn’t contain much dust.

The park is suitable for both: admirers of
active and calm recreation. There are children
playgrounds for all age groups, road for roller
skating and pedestrian roads, cafés, parking lot
and toilets in the park. The park is opened all
year round. In winter park is an excellent place
for distant skiing on a lighted trail. The access is
very convenient; there is a parking place for 200
cars at the park. In 2010 a panoramic tower was
opened here. The tower is 33,5 m high and it
reveals an un forgettable view of Jurmala. The
tower has 12 balconies on different levels so
everyone can choose the hight. Visiting tower is
free of charge.
chiLDRen suMMeR cAMPs
Schoolchildren can spend a nice time with a benefit
for one’s health in Jurmala summer camps.
The camps usually are based in Jurmala school
buildings and offer thematical programmes with
accomodation, full board, swimmimg, sport
games on the beach, hiking and excursions. The
working language is Latvian and/or Russian, the
average lengh – 1 or 2 weeks. Information on
