SOFTWARE ENGINEER – SATCOM CONTROL PROTOCOLS<br />

Design <strong>and</strong> implementation of real-time software enabling dynamic interactions among advanced<br />

terrestrial <strong>and</strong> satellite communications terminals <strong>and</strong> payloads for system access, as well as<br />

service initiation <strong>and</strong> reconfiguration.<br />

Qualifications: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Knowledge of C, C++,<br />

UNIX, X, <strong>and</strong> Motif is required. Experience with Solaris, vxWorks, VME systems, scripting<br />

languages, GUI development, <strong>and</strong> cross-platform development is desired. (64-04-07)<br />

VHDL DESIGN ENGINEER<br />

Will work as a member of a digital design team to implement high-rate communications<br />

processing functions (coding, interleaving, etc.).<br />

Qualifications: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering <strong>and</strong> five years of related experience. Must<br />

have solid, highly developed laboratory debugging skills. Familiarity with communications<br />

DIGITAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER<br />

Will lead a team of electrical engineers in the development of high-rate digital communication<br />

hardware for free-space, satellite-based lasercom <strong>and</strong> terrestrial, fiber-based, optical<br />

communication systems.<br />

Qualifications: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Experience in developing digital<br />

communication hardware is required. The ability to interface with communication systems<br />

engineers to abstract theoretical communication concepts into practical hardware implementations<br />

is also required. Effective interpersonal communication skills are desired. (67-02-07)<br />

ELECTRONIC HARDWARE ENGINEER<br />

Will develop analog RF interfaces between wideb<strong>and</strong> sensors <strong>and</strong> optical communication<br />

transceivers <strong>and</strong>/or complex digital signal processing hardware for ultrasensitive laser<br />

communication systems.<br />

Qualifications: BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Should have experience in design,<br />

simulation, <strong>and</strong> implementation of complex analog/digital circuit boards using computer-aided<br />

design tools to incorporate high-speed analog-to-digital converters, digital signal processing<br />

chips, <strong>and</strong> field-programmable gate arrays. Knowledge of VHDL is desired. (67-03-07)<br />
