Fiji appeal a
success
THE results are in for PACK & SEND Capalaba’s Christmas
in July for Fiji’s Children campaign. Organisers Isabelle and
Darren Dench and Peter and Colleen Hubbert report they
received 2cu in of second-hand and brand new clothes,
books, toys, stationery, linen and more to send to children in
Fiji. Hundreds of locals helped collect over 400kg worth of
items for those in need, which fi lled 16 boxes. Well done on a
great community effort!

Pups get supporter
One of Bendigo’s youngest businesses has celebrated its fi rst anniversary by
becoming involved with the charity Righteous Pups Australia.
Lauren Adcock from PACK & SEND Bendigo said that after their fi rst year of
business they wanted to help the community.
“We wanted to put something back into the community and we thought they
would be best,” she said.
“With an understanding of the valuable help RPA provides to families in need,
we joined as members of the Foundation 300 program, which helps RPA
purchase and train pups.”
“We strongly believe in the work RPA does and are very proud to be able to
give back to the community that has served us so well.”
RPA is a not for profi t organisation that trains and places autism assistance
dogs with children and their families throughout Australia at no cost.
RPA managing director Joanne Baker said each dog cost $29,000 to rear and
train for 18 months.
“As a not for profi t organisation we receive no government funding and rely on
sponsorship from businesses like PACK & SEND to allow us to continue our
work,” she said.
