Major intermodal project
receives maximum press
"Our PR agent did a
good job here", summarized
sht Business
Manager Rui Macedo
in reference to the
comprehensive reports
published in all media on
the fi rst private highway
project in Denmark, for
which sht was granted
the contract.
sht Business Manager Manfred
Himmelbach and Rui Macedo interviewed
by Reporter Mollen
from Radio RST (l. to r.).
Right of way for combined shipping:
The middle of next year sht will transfer
all logistic services for construction materials
for the Danish highway project to its
affi liate i4 Transportation. The focal point
is the international delivery of 50,000 tons
of cement as well as 60,000 tons of lime by
train and truck.
Within the scope of a European-wide
tender, the responsible ministry of transport
favored an intermodal logistics solution and
looked for a suitable corporation group.
"i4T presented a conclusive logistics
concept
sievert handel transporte
with a sophisticated door-to-door solution
as well as a convincing CO 2 balance. The
company has suffi cient experience with
major projects, which is absolutely essential
for this project", stated Michael Boesen,
Project Manager for the Danish Ministry
of Transport responsible for tendering the
new highway project.
The road construction project of a German-
Danish consortium is based primarily on
i4t's intermodal logistics solution. For Business
Manager Manfred Himmelbach the
assignment was not new. “Many transport
companies would like to use intermodal
transport, but hesitate to set up the organization
for preliminary work and follow-up
as well as the search of suitable container
terminals for loading and unloading.” This
is precisely the reason i4T has developed
special international door-to-door solutions
for the transport industry.
A project, which attracted, and is still attracting
a great deal of attention in daily
newspapers and was even the subject of a
number of radio programs.
