Delegation from Lower Saxony visits China
The intensity of the mutual
exchange between the State of
Lower Saxony and the Chinese
Partner Province of Anhui has continued
to increase. On July 3rd and
4th, 2010 the Deputy Prime Minister
of the State of Lower Saxony,
Minister of Economic Affairs Jörg
Bode visited China with a delegation
from Lower Saxony.
For the participating entrepreneurs
it was also important to assess the
opportunities and risks involved with
economic investments in China.
With this background, the visit also
included two companies which had
already risked the step to China and
are either already in production there
or are presently erecting production
facilities. On July 4th the delegation
fi rst visited the Sievert Plant in Hefei
and then participated in the solemn
start of the machine installation by
the German tire manufacturer Continental,
who recently invested 185
million euros for production facilities
in Hefei, China. The plant is laid out
for an annual capacity of four million
tires.
By the way, quick-mix mortar was
used in the construction of the
Continental Plant in Hefei and good
prospects also exist for delivery of the
construction material for the second
construction phase.
