his house? Artwork naturally!

The artist's name is Ottmar Scheuring,
he lives in Frammersbach, an offi cially
recognized recreation spot in Spessart
and has been retired for ten years.
Previously he did oil paintings and
then, having more time for artistic
work after retirement, Ottmar
Scheuring started shaping
sculptures using gypsum.
Three years ago, his house
was renovated by the
quick-mix Craftsman
Aull + Pfaff in Frammersbach,
quick-mix
using a thermally insulating composite
system and the facade of his
son's house was coated with gray SKS
plaster. Then art and quick-mix met.
Ottmar Scheuring thought: “This material
is weather-resistant, I think I'll try
using gray SKS instead of gypsum.”
His technique: The sculptures are fastened
to a board. The subconstruction
for the fi gures is a wire mesh which is
freely modeled with gray SKS. Some
of the sculptures remain their natural
color while others are fi nished with
dispersion or acrylic paint.
These works of art remained outdoors
all winter and were completely
covered with snow. No damage was
visible in the summer. This convinced
Ottmar Scheuring. In the meantime
he buys his gray SKS from Mill Construction
Materials in Frammersbach;
as much as he needs.
Ottmar Scheuring has been well
known for his oil paintings and sculptures
for some time in the region;
he goes to exhibitions and shows
his artwork at fall and spring fairs in
Frammersbach and Lohr/Main. And
quick-mix has now found a completely
new sales market with its
convincing quality.
