tree Planting at Glenden state school
On Wednesday 1 August,
Angela Olsen, Graduate
environment & Community
Advisor from Newlands
Coal visited Glenden State
School to assist the Year 3
students plant trees around
the school oval as part of
National tree Day activities.
the trees provided by
Newlands Coal were of
particular significance to
Glenden State School as
they were trees that the
high school students had
propagated in the Newlands
Coal greenhouse during 2011
as part of the r.I.O (resources,
Infrastructure and Operations)
program activities. the trees
included a mix of native bottle
tree and eucalypt species
which should handle the
conditions of the area nicely.

Year 3 teacher Shannon Wright
and all of the Year 3 students
