joining our team, as a locum
for the month of September.
the practice will always have
a Doctor in attendance at the
surgery during opening hours!

process of an on-going search
for a permanent Doctor to join
our team; the community will be
notified once this position has
been filled.
Prescriptions
During this transition
period, patients requesting
prescriptions, maybe asked to
come in for an appointment to
obtain their scripts, this allows
our Doctor to get to know the
person that they are writing the
scripts for, this service will be
BulK BilleD during this time.
Bulk Billing
Just a reminder that all
children under the age of 16
& All Health Care Card or
Pensioner Card holders will
be BulK BilleD after their
consultation with the Doctor.
Doctors residence
the Doctors residence is prIVAte
and NO pAtIeNtS should be
attending the Doctors place of
residence for patient care. After
hours care is, as follows:-
For all afterhours enquires for
medical care, the patient should
call the Ambulance on 13 12 33
for less urgent care or 000 for
an emergency. there is also
13HeAltH, which has qualified
nurses to provide information
in regards to your condition or
ailments. Also, the Australian
Government has just launched a
new incentive for patients to call
for medical advice, please see
below for information.

Air conditioner use
Air conditioning is a heavy use of electricity and sensible usage is
encouraged.
As each householder requires varying temperatures for their air
conditioning to operate, the following general guidelines should
assist with efficiency and comfort requirement from
air conditioning.
the recommended temperature for air conditioning to operate is
23°C - 25°C.
Keep external windows and doors closed, as well as the toilet and
bathroom doors, as this prevents the warm outside air entering
and mixing with conditioned air. try to block direct sunlight
penetration through windows i.e. Draw curtains or blinds where
applicable. If a high heat load is added to the house via the
above means, the air conditioning will have problems in achieving
temperatures required.
Air conditioner filters should be regularly cleaned every two
weeks, as clogged filters will dramatically drop efficiency of
the unit.
to clean the filters, you should shake loose dirt and lint or vacuum
filter, rinse in cold water using liquid detergent, hose in clean cold
water and shake off excess moisture. Wait until filter is dry before
replacing.
Visiting Community optometrist
bob Lindner is currently servicing the bowen basin and visiting
Glenden on a monthly basis.
bob specialises in on-site services and supply of prescription
safety glasses to the mining industry however also offers a
general optometry service to communities that do not currently
have a regular optometry provider.
bob’s next visit to Glenden will be Saturday 15th September 2012.
