The staff made the effort to bring

the rain. I also recall the 2012 New
Year’s Eve Party which my nieces and
nephews thoroughly enjoyed with all
that foam! There was also the fly-past
of the F16s during the National Day
performances. I will certainly miss the
view from The Terrace overlooking
the buildings along Nicoll Highway
and at Beach Road district.”
Ms Jennifer Yuen, another regular
patron at SCGH also expressed her
sadness over the closure of SCGH.
“It is sad as I would be missing my
regular lunches with my colleagues
there as well as our favourite fish
noodles soup,” she said. “I remember
celebrating my birthday at The Bistro
as well as our family reunion dinners
during Chinese New Year. Hopefully
the staff at The Bistro would continue
to work with the Guild House after
the closure.”

So as the clock approaches the
moment when SCGH finally closes
its doors and when the shutters are
finally drawn for good, NUSS will
close this chapter in its history and
keep moving forward by embarking
on a new beginning together with its
members for the future.
Towards The Closure
Tenants at Suntec City Mall have been facing
uncertain times as the mall prepares to
undergo a major S$410 million makeover
with some tenants being told to move out
while others will have to pause operations.
NUSS’ Suntec City Guild House was
among those told to move out. In a letter
sent on June 1, Suntec Real Estate Investment
Trust (REIT), which owns the mall,
informed NUSS that they were exercising
a clause in the tenancy agreement which
allows termination with six months notice
in the event of redevelopment.
