$1 million from the sale of environmental<br />

water reserves released from Eildon to<br />

irrigators in February 2007.<br />

• The release of 2.7GL of environmental water<br />

released into the <strong>Broken</strong> Creek to manage<br />

azolla <strong>and</strong> low dissolved oxygen.<br />

• The further development of the RiverConnect<br />

project. This involves a wide range of<br />

stakeholders, including the indigenous<br />

community <strong>and</strong> Local Government.<br />

• Third review of the SIRCIS <strong>and</strong> continues with<br />

major progress into the program reviews. This<br />

will feed into the <strong>Goulburn</strong> <strong>Broken</strong> Regional<br />

<strong>Catchment</strong> Strategy in 2009 <strong>and</strong> the Victorian<br />

Sustainable Irrigation Strategy.<br />

• A major review of the assumptions underlying<br />

the impact of our accountable actions on River<br />

Murray salinity was completed <strong>and</strong> submitted<br />

to the Murray Darling Basin Commission.<br />

I would personally like to commend the continued<br />

work of my fellow Committee members : Helen<br />

Reynolds, Peter McCamish, Allen Canobie, Steve<br />

Farrell, John Gray, Nick Ryan <strong>and</strong> Roger Wrigley <strong>and</strong><br />

Agency members Terry Hunter, Bruce Cumming <strong>and</strong><br />

Tony Long <strong>and</strong> thank them for their hard work <strong>and</strong><br />

personal contribution.<br />

Additionally, I would like to thank our Executive<br />

Officer Ken Sampson for his continued leadership<br />

<strong>and</strong> support. His commitment to the high level of<br />

active community participation <strong>and</strong> the partnership<br />

relationship between Agencies is very important.<br />
