Carter Rostad Angel Wright Cree Angel’s favourite teachers have been Miss Armstrong, Mr. Lansdell, Miss McMillan and Mary. Her future plans are to go to College and become a Chef. She enjoys being active and hanging out with friends and family. She has been involved in cultural activities at school, she has been a member of Cadets, and has received service medals and certificates in Food Safe and dance. Angel would like to acknowledge and thank her parents, brothers Allen andTravis, and Mr. Berry and Mrs. Gaiptman for all their support and encouragement. Her role model is her brother Allen, because he has been there for her and encouraged her to not drop out of school. Her advice to fellow students, “Don’t skip so much.” Page 25
<strong>Victoria</strong> High <strong>School</strong> Shadow Alfred N’amgis Nation Shadow plans to attend post secondary schools for training in Sports Management and to pursue a career in soccer, which is her favourite sport. She completed basic military training in Ontario last summer. Her advice to other students, “Don’t slack in your high school years. It’s better to just get it over with than do it all over again!” Cecelia Ambrose Nuu-chah-nulth & Coast Salish Cecelia’s favourite teacher was Ms. Tenning because of “her amazing support when it came to post-secondary education.” Cecelia is planning on going to Camosun College in the fall, and then obtain a degree in Child and Youth Care from UVic. She would like to thank all the First Nations counselors for all their support and encouragement! Keshia-Anne Croucher Coast Salish Keshia’s favourite teachers are Ms. Murray, Mr. Pine and Ms. Picard. Her future plans include further training in cosmetology and business school. She is a talented hair stylist and it is her favourite hobby. Keshia-Anne would like to thank Mrs. Murray and Mr. Pine for their support and encouragement over the years. Her role model is Vidal Sassoon. Her advice to other students is, “Don’t give up! Try and your achievements are worth it threefold!” Page 26
