Bae Dawson
Coast Salish
Bae’s favourite teachers are Mr. Young, Martha McKay, Mr. McCarthy and
Mr. Uyeda “because they make learning their subjects entertaining!” Bae
plans to attend post secondary school to study Anthropology at UVic and
to travel to South America. His favorite hobbies are Art, outdoor
festivals, movies and photography. He is a really good student who has
received an award for academic achievement. Bae would like to thank Ms.
Tammy Reid, Ms. Christina Chase and Ms. Anne Tenning for their support
and encouragement. His role model is his dad because he is “always
hardworking, inspiring, funny, smart, intelligent and respectful.” His advice
to other students, “Work hard, play harder, be happy!”
Sarah Edwards
Lytton
Sarah’s favourite teacher is Ms. Murray because “she’s the kindest
woman I have ever met and she’s helped me to get here”. Her future
plans include working with children with disabilities. She loves cats and
likes to sing and play guitar. Sarah is a talented hair designer but sees
herself doing post secondary training to work with children. She would
like to thank Ms. Murray and Joanne Mitchell for their support and
encouragement over the years. Her advice to other students is simply,
“Don’t skip!”
Wesley Edwards
Tsartlip
Wesley’s favourite teachers are Mr. Pine, Mr. Wheeler and Mr. Clarke.
Mr. Wheeler has helped him out over the years at Vic High and he has
known Mr. Clarke since elementary school. His future plans are to
continue with his carpentry training and to attend trades school. He
loves to play basketball for fun and fitness. He would like to thank Mr.
Wheeler for all his help in carpentry; his mom for getting him to
school; and his grandparents for telling him to “Keep it up”. His
message to other students is, “Stay in school and go to class!”
