1. Improved plow steel (IWRC IPS) 6 x 19 Independent wire rope core.<br />

2. Breaking strength as listed in supply documentation.<br />

3. If a torque wrench is not available, adequate torque can be attained by: For<br />

3/8-inch clamps, use 12-inch-long wrench and apply a <strong>for</strong>ce of about 50<br />

pounds. For 1/2-inch clamps, use a 15-inch-long wrench and apply a <strong>for</strong>ce of<br />

about 60 pounds. For 5/8-inch clamps, use an 24-inch-long wrench and apply a<br />

<strong>for</strong>ce of about 70 pounds.<br />

4. Wire rope is rated in nominal strength; actual strength may vary. When wire<br />

rope is assembled in a complete loop using wire rope clamps, the strength<br />

should be calculated as 80% of twice the value of the nominal strength. With an<br />

end loop, the strength should be calculated as 80% of the nominal strength of<br />

the wire rope.<br />
