The operator's manuals, TM 9-23<strong>20</strong>-364-10 (M1074/M1075 <strong>Truck</strong>), TM 9-3990-<br />
<strong>20</strong>6-14&P (M1077 and M1 Flatrack), and TM 9-3990-260-14&P (M3 and M3A1<br />
Flatrack)show how to prepare the flatracks to transport cargo and load them on the<br />
trucks. Users should refer to the operator's manuals <strong>for</strong> additional in<strong>for</strong>mation on the<br />
PLS.<br />
Flatracks are made by different manufacturers and have different configurations.<br />
The data plate on the flatrack gives specific in<strong>for</strong>mation about its weight, cargo capacity,<br />
and tiedown fittings. Features which are common on all flatracks are:<br />
1. The front end is the end with the load handling mechanism bail bar.<br />
2. Cargo tiedown rings are spaced around the edge of the flatrack. The large rings<br />
have a capacity of 25,000 pounds. The smaller rings have a capacity of 10,000 pounds,<br />
figure 60.<br />
3. All cargo rings will accept hooks, chains, and loadbinders having a 3/4-inch<br />
hook opening. All will accept metal banding up to 2 inches wide.<br />
