Therefore you can only wire max. 2 incremental encoders with a SLS- 500-R 24V and/or SLS-500-S 24V. An incremental encoder delivers values on 2 lines, called track A and track B. The speed at which impulses are sent by the incremental encoder are called „line“. This procedure is called „4-times evaluation“. B A 24 V 0 24 V 0 A and B in the graph describe the two tracks of the encoder. The „4-times evaluation“ shows the direction of rotation and the current position of the encoder. Example: If the encoder has got a line resolution of 1000, it will deliver 1000 impulses per second.
