Hochleistungswerkstoffe für die
Glasherstellung
High Performance Materials for
Glass Production
During the production of glass all materials and components
are subjected to extreme thermal and mechanical stress and
chemical attack. As far as the tank and feeder systems are concerned,
temperatures range from 1100 °C (2012 °F) to 1700 °C
(3092 °F). For special applications temperatures above 2000 °C
(3632 °F) are not unusual. Besides oxidation and corrosion
resistance, purity, better shape retention and higher wear
resistance of materials are of utmost importance for the production
of high quality glass.
After decades of research and development work in the field
of high-temperature materials, PLANSEE has become the
world’s leading company for refractory metals and an essential
partner for the glass industry.
Products made of molybdenum, TZM and tungsten guarantee
an improvement in glass quality and an increase in
the productivity level due to their high purity and excellent
mechanical and chemical resistance. This translates into a
decisive competitive advantage for our customers.
