Leyland - latest venue for
parish monastic gathering
Ampleforth monks serving on our various
parishes meet regularly (normally thriceyearly.)
Such meetings, chaired by Fr
Abbot, offer an opportunity to pool
experience and enjoy each other’s
company. This February’s gathering in
Leyland included a report on Fr Abbot’s
recent visit to Zimbabwe and on the
Monastery of Christ the Word. Discussion
then turned to specifically parish-related
items. The latter included a report on
parish property issues from David Read,
Estate Manager at Ampleforth. Monks and
others present included Fr Bonaventure
Knollys (Ampleforth Village), Julia Brooke
(PA to Fr Abbot), Fr Damian Humphries
(Osmotherley), Fr Gordon Beattie
(Parbold), Fr Leo Chamberlain
(Easingwold) and David Read (Estate
Manager).
