Solemn Profession<br />
Br Cedd Mannion took his final vows to the<br />
Monastery of St Laurence during Sunday<br />
Mass on 9th January <strong>2011</strong>. The ceremony,<br />
at which Fr Abbot presided, was witnessed<br />
by Br Cedd’s family, friends, and students<br />
from the <strong>College</strong> and St Martin’s<br />
<strong>Ampleforth</strong>. His was the first term-time<br />
Solemn Profession for many years, and was<br />
thus a rare opportunity for our students to<br />
witness this climactic moment of<br />
commitment to the monastic way of life.<br />
The Mass coincided with the Feast of the<br />
Baptism of the Lord, with its focus on the<br />
start of Christ’s public ministry and his<br />
commitment to a life of service.<br />
