1.7 <strong>System</strong> Log<br />

<strong>System</strong> Log provides historical information that can help you track down events, system problems <strong>and</strong><br />

POS <strong>and</strong> object counting data. This information is being saved in a database Access format. To view<br />

the <strong>System</strong> Log, click the ViewLog button (No. 13, Figure 1-2), <strong>and</strong> then select <strong>System</strong> Log from the<br />

menu. This brings up the Live Log Browser as shown below.<br />

1.7.1 Viewing Event Logs<br />

The Live Log Browser provides five types of event logs. Use the control tabs to switch among them.<br />

[Monitor] Displays information pertaining to motion <strong>and</strong> I/O events. Double-clicking an alert event in<br />

the list will allow you to view related video.<br />

ID: This column shows the event ID number generated by the system.<br />

Time: This column shows the time when a motion or I/O monitor event occurs.<br />

Device: This column shows camera ID or I/O device associated with the event.<br />

Information: This column shows the I/O module number.<br />

Event: These event messages mean:<br />

Motion: Appear if motion occurs in the associated camera.<br />

Video Lost: Appears if video lost occurs in the associated camera.<br />

Video Resume: Appears if video resume in the associated camera.<br />

Signal On: Appears if one of the input device connected to the associated I/O module are<br />

activated.<br />

Signal Off: Appears if one of the input device connected to the associated I/O module are<br />

terminated.<br />
