Madrid 2003. ANNUAL MEETING EUROPEAN SOCIAL PAEDIATRIC
En nombre de la Comisión Organizadora del ANNUAL MEETING EUROPEAN SOCIAL
PAEDIATRIC, tenemos el placer y el honor de invitarles a unirse a nosotros en Octubre de 2003,
en Madrid.
Por unos días, Madrid será la capital de la Pediatría Social Europea. Al interés indudable del
evento se unen, en esta ocasión, la celebración conjunta del XVI CONGRESO ESPAÑOL DE
PEDIATRÍA SOCIAL convocado, como ya es habitual, por la sección de Pediatría Social de la
Asociación Española de Pediatría (AEP).
Creemos que este acontecimiento va a constituir un hito transcendente en la historia de la
Pediatría Social Europea y Nacional, por varias razones.
En primer lugar, el evento va a tener lugar en un marco incomparable: MADRID. En este
momento, Madrid es una de las ciudades más relevantes del mundo, pues a su atractivo turístico
(Cultura, Historia, Arte, Gastronomía, y un largo etcétera), se unen los mejores equipamientos de
Europa para hacer posible la realización de un evento de esta categoría.
En segundo lugar, expertos de varios países europeos acudirán a Madrid para hacernos partícipes
de sus conocimientos y experiencias sobre los temas más actuales de la Pediatría Social.
La reunión contará, además, con el apoyo entusiasta de la ESSOP, reforzada por las sociedades
de Pediatría Social del área Europea. Por tanto, al elaborar el Programa, hemos hecho un gran
esfuerzo para lograr un equilibrio entre la investigación y clínica diaria y los problemas cotidianos y
prospección de futuro, en la idea de que este Congreso no sólo represente un éxito en cuanto al
record de participantes, sino un triunfo de la sección de Pediatría Social de la AEP.
Auguramos que este Congreso quedará como un acontecimiento inolvidable en su memoria, tanto
por los conocimientos adquiridos como, y muy especialmente, por la amistad y simpatía con que
serán acogidos.

EUROPEAN SOCIETY FOR SOCIAL PAEDIATRICS 2003 ANNUAL MEETING
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the EUROPEAN SOCIETY FOR SOCIAL
PAEDIATRICS ANNUAL MEETING, we are pleased to invite you to join us in Madrid on October
2003.
For a few days, Madrid will become the capital city of European Social Paediatrics. This important
event will be held simultaneously with the XVI SPANISH CONFERENCE ON SOCIAL
PAEDIATRICS organized by the Department of Social Paediatrics of the Spanish Paediatric
Association (AEP).
We believe that this event will be a significant milestone in the history of European and Spanish
Social Paediatrics for various reasons.
First of all, this Conference will be held in a venue of unparalleled beauty: Madrid. Today, Madrid is
one of the most outstanding cities of the world, where a wide range of tourist attractions (culture,
history, art and gastronomy, among many others) coexist with the best European infrastructure
allowing for this type of events.
Secondly, keynote experts from various European countries will come to Madrid to share with us
their knowledge and experience on the latest issues in the field of Social Paediatrics.
This meeting will also be endorsed by ESSOP and the European Associations of Social
Paediatrics. Therefore, when drafting the Conference Program, we have made a special effort in
striking the right balance between research and daily clinical practice and everyday problems and
future projections. In fact, we expect this Conference to be both a success in terms of the number
of attendants and a major achievement of AEP’s Department of Social Paediatrics.
We hope you will recall this Conference not only for the knowledge you will be able to achieve but
also for the friendliness and warmth you will be welcomed with.
