Do an internship in another country: It’s worth your while!
My name is Egoitz, I am 20 years old and
I have completed the High Degree Training
Course in Telecommunications and
Computer Science at Politeknika Ikastegia
Txorierri in Derio. After passing the exams,
the time came to do an internship in
a company for three months.
Egoitz dut izena, 20 urte ditut eta Derioko
Txorierri Ikastegi Politeknikoan Telekomunikazio
eta Informatika Sistemetako goi mailako
zikloa amaitu dut. Azterketak gainditu
ostean, hiru hilabetez enpresa batean Lanbide
Heziketako praktikak egiteko unea heldu
zitzaidan.
Ziklo hori egitera bultzatu ninduten arrazoi
nagusietako bat lan praktikak atzerrian egiteko
aukera izan zen. Nire ingelesa hobetzeko,
beste kultura bat ezagutzeko, beste
herrialde bat ikusi eta bertan lan egiteko...
aukera egokia zela pentsatu nuen eta, zalantza
barik, abenturan abiatu nintzen. Hiru
herrialde aukeratu nituen helmuga posibletzat:
Alemania, Ingalaterra eta Holanda. Eskaria
egin ostean, hil batzuk geroago, nire
helmuga Holanda izango zela jakinarazi zidaten.
Martxoa heldu zen azkenean, eta ikasgelakide
batekin eta HETELeko LHko beste ikastetxe
bateko ikasle batekin batera, abioia
hartu genuen tulipanen herrialderantz.
Gure helmuga Zwolle zen, Amsterdamen
ipar-ekialdean dagoen herri xarmanta. Eus-

el Ciclo de grado superior de Sistemas de
telecomunicación e informática en Politeknika
Ikastegia Txorierri de Derio. Después de superar
los exámenes, llegó la hora de realizar las
prácticas de Formación Profesional en una empresa
durante un periodo de tres meses.
Una de las principales razones por las que
decidí realizar este Ciclo, fue la idea de poder
realizar las prácticas en el extranjero. Me parecía
una buena manera de mejorar mi inglés,
conocer otra cultura, ver la forma de trabajar
en otro país… así que sin dudarlo, me lancé a
la aventura, eligiendo entre los posibles países
de destino Alemania, Inglaterra y Holanda. Tras
hacer la solicitud, unos meses después, me comunicaron
que mi destino sería Holanda.
Por fin llegó marzo, dónde junto con otro
compañero de clase y otro estudiante de otro
centro de FP HETEL cogimos un avión rumbo
al país de los tulipanes. Nuestro destino
era Zwolle, un pueblo acogedor al noreste de
Amsterdam. Lo qué más me sorprendió fue lo
limpio que estaba aquello en comparación con
cualquier pueblo del País Vasco, los paisajes, y
One of the main reasons why I decided to
study this Training Course was the idea
of being able to do an intership abroad.
It seemed like a good way to improve my
English, learn about another culture and
see how they work in another country, so
I plunged into the adventure without hesitation,
choosing Germany, England and
Holland as potential host countries. Some
months after applying, I was told I would
be going to Holland.
March finally arrived and, accompanied
by a classmate and a student from another
HETEL VT school, I took a plane to the
land of tulips. Our destination was Zwolle,
a cosy village north-east of Amsterdam.
What surprised me most was how clean
it was compared to any village in the
Basque Country, the landscapes, and the
modesty with which every one decorated
and arranged their garden. It seemed like
a constant struggle to see who had the
best garden!
We lived in a bungalow just 15 minutes
from the city by bus. The mornings were
hard. We got up early and had to walk,
but we accepted that it was our responsibility
without problems, and there is no
gain without pain.
My workplace was a huge Vocational
Training school —Deltion College... amazing!
A gigantic, modern location! No
comparison to the schools here: huge
windows, mile-long corridors, all the material
provided by top brands (Apple, HP,
