of funding for the expansion of Aranzazú.
–It’s funding in place for the full
Aranzazú expansion?
We have part of the funding coming
from our internal cash flow generation
and for the remainder of the capital,
we are looking outside. Most probably,
it will be in the form of a loan.
–What’s the expected growth for
the company in the next five years?
Since we are a production company,
we measure revenue and EBIT-
DA (earnings before interest, taxes,
depreciation and amortization). Our
trailing twelve months revenue, as
of september 30, is approximately
US$340 million. Our operating cash
flow for the same period is approximately
US$62.6 million. With the current
projects we have on the books, we
would like to grow that by 30% to 50%
over the next three years.
–How will Aura be affected by
the tax hike across the board in
Mexico?
It will impact Aranzazú however it
will not stop our expansion plans. The
Mexican royalty tax for us will be 7% of
gross margin or 3.5% of gross revenue.
By comparison, Chile operates with 3%
of gross revenue. The Mexican rate is a
high one, but it’s not the highest.

ganancias obtenidas en Brasil son una
fuente importante de financiamiento para
la expansión de Aranzazú.
–¿Está la expansión financiada?
Parte del financiamiento viene de la
generación de nuestro propio flujo de fondos.
Para el resto, estamos mirando hacia
afuera. Lo más probable es que será un
inversionista inactivo, un préstamo.
–¿Cuál espera sea el crecimiento
de la compañía en los próximos cinco
años?
Considerando que somos productores,
evaluamos ingresos y ganancia bruta
(sin considerar intereses, impuestos, depreciación
y amortización). Nuestros ingresos
en los últimos doce meses previos
a septiembre se acercan a los US$340
millones. La ganancia bruta por el mismo
periodo es de U$62,6 millones. Con los
actuales proyectos que estamos desarrollando,
debiéramos crecer entre 30% y
50% en los próximos tres años.
–¿Cómo se verá afectada Aura con
el alza de impuestos en México?
Impactará Aranzazú, pero no detendrá
nuestros planes de expansión. Los
royalties que deberemos pagar en México
alcanzarán 7% del producto neto o 3,5%
de la ganancia bruta. En comparación,

Can you take us through the
liquidation process?
Both mines have good teams,
plants and equipment. The company is
investigating multiple options to maximize
the disposal and closure value of
the assets. We may sell the physical
plant to some other mine in Brazil and
the majority of the team is expected to
go to Serrote.
SERROTE
The Serrote project is located in the
state of Alagoas, in the central–south
of Brazil. The property currently consists
of 24 exploration licenses covering
40,899 hectares, 11 exploration
applications covering 19,622 hectares
and one mining concession covering
