The Technology Parks Aerópolis
and Tecnobahía offer excelent
conditions for working with
Airbus and the Andalusian
supply chain
Technology Parks with advanced services where generating
synergies to promote business growth, as Aerópolis
and Tecnobahía; research and experimentation centers
in areas with great projection such as aircraft and unmanned
systems; or pioneering facilities aimed at technical qualification
of professionals, such as the Flight Simulator and Training Centre
for pilots and crews of Airbus Defence & Space, are some of
the main points of this network infrastructure, to which must be
added strategic installations such as the A400M Final Assembly
Line (FAL), one of the three final assembly lines of large aircraft in
Europe.
Environment for innovation and business
In the provinces of Seville and Cadiz, that represent 90% of the
Andalusian industry cluster, are located, respectively, the Andalusian
Aerospace Technology Park, AERÓPOLIS, and Tec-
nobahía, premises in which companies in the sector have found
something more than a competitive soil and urbanism of excellence.
In both parks aerospace companies have a wide portfolio
of advanced services to improve the incorporation of companies
to collaborative innovation projects and to generate and
take advantage of synergies. A significant presence of Airbus
in these places has made them very attractive also for international
companies that want to be close to the European manufacturer.
In both spaces are also present different subsectors of
the Andalusian supply chain, which also generates a network of
significant value to the contractor or manufacturer.
Aerópolis counts on 80 companies in the sector, including, as
discussed, Airbus DS (with the A400M FAL and C295 and CN-
235 in southern site) and Tier One Spanish companies Alestis
Aerospace and Aernnova, along with other firms in the auxiliary
industry (northern enclave). This is in fact the only scientific and
technology park in Europe devoted exclusively to the aerospace
industry, and is the main driving force of the sector in Andalusia:
it gathers 41% of sales (€ 850 million) and 38% of employment
(4,400 workers), including the majority of professionals and
technologists working on R&D in the aviation community.
It offers a wide range of land suitable for industrial and tertiary
uses to promote setting up of national and international companies,
and is already working with the regional government in a future
enlargement of the surface in the medium term. It highlights
the Aerospace Engineering Innovation Center, which brings together
top-level design and engineering companies looking to
be at the forefront of aerospace, and where are already working
major national and international firms, as Sonovisión, Latécoère
or AERTEC Solutions. In Aerópolis it is also located the Aeronautic
Suppliers Village, a space that welcomes mainly providers
participating in the A400M supply chain or seeking for
