The new PreFAL Tablada is working
to implement the first moving
assembly line for the fuselage of
a military transport aircraft in the
world, which will be operational in
about two months
fuselage of the military medium transport C295 and CN-235. In addition
to the work of the A400M, the integration of the C295 and
CN-235 fuselages counts on a specific harrow for the structural assembly
and a pulse line where different equipment are integrated,
as well as electrical and hydraulic systems, landing gear, flight controls
and some other components. These aircraft leave this factory
to the FAL in San Pablo with a high degree of completion, in the
absence of mounting empennage, wings, engines and aircraft onboard
systems.
Commitment to technological innovation
One of the most important technological developments of the Airbus
DS PreFAL Tablada is precisely this activity of the C295 and
CN-235 programmes, as the company is working to implement a
modern moving assembly line for these aircraft fuselage, the first
one of this type for a military transport aircraft that exists in the world
(so far there are only some in the US but for civil aircraft). This line
will provide greater speed in the assembly line and continue to increase
the improvement and efficiency of processes. So this is a
guarantee for on-time deliveries to the FAL of San Pablo, and they
will be prepared to much larger cadences than today.
This is a very powerful technological challenge for Airbus at Tablada,
which says a lot about the strategic position it plays in its
industrial chart organization and its future potential and growth in
the medium term. “It can be considered the flagship project of the
plant, and it is the result of the development of the lines of work
and technological and high added value activities carried out in
Tablada in recent years, “said Jesus Garcia Arguelles. This new
line will be operational in about two months and will be located
in the same place where is also developed the work of integration,
assembly and equipped of the Power Plant of the engines of
the A400M, which includes the pylons and cowlings of the aircraft
power plant.
This moving line of equipped pylons is a benchmark since the
summer of 2014, optimized with the know-how developed in previous
years in PreFAL Tablada in other processes, such as assembly
and equipped of the Eurofighter Dass Pod. Operators fit in
quality and time to takt-time set by the customer, with the support
of all MFT (multifunctional team) interconnected by phone via sms
to ANDON system, which indicates the progress by phases and
