LES ATELIERS DE MAITRISE D’ŒUVRE URBAINE EN ASIE 7 DES MOYENS D'ACCES ADAPTES A UNE EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE DU XXI ème SIECLE Avoir privilégié la proximité de ce qui sera, semble-t-il, le plus grand aéroport du monde est aussi une démonstration de bon sens: les 50 millions de visiteurs attendus iront probablement aussi à SHANGHAI, ne serait-ce que pour y loger, mais le flux compact sur une durée de temps et d'espace réduit sera quand même concentré sur le terrain de l'Exposition Universelle. Il est donc recommandable d'être à un carrefour de voies rapides (ce qui est le cas) et sur une station de métro aux capacités importantes (la ligne n°2 qui relie le nouvel aéroport de PUDONG au centre de SHANGHAI). L'aéroport est à 11km du site de l'Exposition. Sur le plan des transports en commun, outre le prolongement de la ligne 2 du métro qui vient du centre ville - la Place du Peuple - et de Pudong, un transport nouveau sur rail viendra de l'aéroport en suivant l'avenue YINBIN, offrant un second accès au site de l'Exposition (capacité 20.000 voyageurs/heure. La deuxième rocade de SHANGHAI dessert doublement le terrain car elle est précisément au carrefour où le tracé Est-Ouest se prolonge vers l'aéroport (c'est l'avenue YINBIN dont l'emprise est de 100 mètres + 2x50 mètres) et où la voie Nord-Sud se prolonge vers le Sud pour aller en direction du nouveau grand port de mer. Ceci tout en s'intégrant aux itinéraires rapides qui maillent le territoire. ACCESSES ADAPTED TO A WORLD FAIR OF THE 21 ST CENTURY The location of the Fair in the vicinity of what might be one of the largest airport of the world shows the good sense of the authorities: around 50 millions visitors are expected and they will also probably go to the city of Shanghai, at least for accommodation purposes. However the flow of people will be concentrated on the premises of the World Fair. It is then highly advisable to be at the crossroads of expressways (which is the case) and to have a subway station of great size and capacities (on the subway line linking the new airport of PUDONG to the city centre of SHANGHAI. The airport is located 11 km from the Fair grounds. As far as public transport is concerned, the subway line 2 coming from the city centre - People's Square - and Pudong will be extended. A light transportation system on tracks will come from the airport and follow the YINBIN Avenue: this will provide a second access to the Fair ground (20,000travellers/hour). The second bypass of SHANGHAI serves the Fair ground in two different spots. It is at a crossroads, where the East- Western road goes towards the airport (the YINBIN Avenue with a right-of-way of 100 metres - 2x50m) and the North-Southern road extending to the South towards the new seaport, and integrated to the expressways crisscrossing the area. LES ATELIERS DE MAITRISE D’ŒUVRE URBAINE EN ASIE PARTIE II LE SITE D’APPLICATION 8 LE TERRAIN Le terrain est un quadrilatère plat de 1700 par 1800 mètres environ. Il est bordé de deux voies rapides dont l'une est autoroutière. Sur l'angle Nord-Est passe le tracé du métro-RER qui, à cet endroit, fait une boucle pour aller vers l'aéroport. Une station est à prévoir à cet endroit. La ligne est aérienne (sur viaduc. Toutefois le tracé reste à préciser. Il peut se modifier et longer le terrain au Nord ou à l'est en fonction de multiples facteurs à prendre en compte, dont l'intérêt qu'il peut avoir pour la desserte de l'Exposition. La route HUA DONG LU est à construire. Elle a une emprise de 85 mètres (avec ses accotements plantés) Le terrain est actuellement occupé par un mélange: • de constructions de petites dimensions dans des états très différents les uns des autres (certaines d'entre elles pourraient répondre à des usages engendrés par l'Exposition, après relogement des occupants actuels), • de champs de différentes cultures (légumes ou rizières), • de petites fermes • de petites usines • de terrains vagues de canaux de petites dimensions THE SITE The plot is a quadrilateral of about 1700 by 1800 metres. Two expressways run alongside, one of them being a highway. At the North-Eastern corner is the layout of the subway/express railway, looping in order to follow the direction of the airport. A station shall be planned there. It is an elevated railway (on a viaduct). However, the layout shall still be precisely designed. It might be altered and run alongside the site in the North or in the East: this will depends on many factors, which have to be taken into account. One of them being the servicing of the Fair grounds. The HUA DONG LU road is yet to be built: It will be 85 metres wide (including planted shoulders). The current occupancies of the ground are as follow : • small-sized buildings (in various state of preservation). Some of them could really be used for the purpose of the Fair - after having relocated the current inhabitants), • Fields growing various crops (vegetables and ricefields), • Small farms, • Small factories, • Wasteland, • Small canals.
