Yes, I mean You! Compiling it was so much fun as I thought of the joy and the benefits you would derive turning every page, and I hope we continue bringing out more interesting editions. West Africa <strong>Mode</strong>l Scout is a<br />
<strong>La</strong>mode Magazine initiative tailored to<br />
empower young adults in west Africa<br />
and hopefully the rest of Africa.<br />
<strong>Mode</strong>ling is a glamorous career choice<br />
but requires a passionate mind dedicated<br />
to modeling to be successful, it also<br />
requires hardwork, the skills, the right<br />
body shape and size. West Africa <strong>Mode</strong>l<br />
scout is a competition that encompasses<br />
all the rigours of becoming a successful<br />
Top <strong>Mode</strong>l.<br />
The Maiden edition of the event was<br />
held in the ancient city of Benin<br />
Nigeria. 56 <strong>Mode</strong>ls were registered and<br />
the competition commenced with the<br />
phase 1 which is the online social media<br />
voting using <strong>La</strong>mode magazine's<br />
facebook page as the voting platform.<br />
The models with the highest votes were<br />
selected amongst the top 20 for<br />
auditioning at the porshe Indigo Lounge<br />
in Benin City.<br />
Phase 2 of the competition took place<br />
at the auditions. This stage required the<br />
models to be trained by <strong>La</strong>mode's<br />
<strong>Mode</strong>l trainer who graded the models<br />
by there performance and assimilation.<br />
The models where also interviewed by a<br />
panel on there knowlegde in fashion<br />
and modeling. Finally the models where<br />
made to experience a professional<br />
photo shoot by a renowned fashion<br />
photographer. Present at the audition<br />
phase was Rax Culture designer and<br />
founder, Tonia <strong>Mode</strong>l and Pagent<br />
Coach, Felix Uloh Connex Media, The<br />
crew Media. At the end of phase 2, Ten<br />
top models where selected for the<br />
Finale Fashion show a week after<br />
auditions.
