La Mode

Just a few years ago,
It was a place everyone longed to go,
which gave the chance for a better future,
but today everything from its core has changed and
become insecure,
though few still see it as an obligation,
to many it another thing done out of compulsion,
it was intended to make people better,
but since it lost its core,
it has reduce people to writing more application letters,
how can the human mind become so lethargic,
it’s now even more tragic,
as it reduces intelligence,
making the people static,
especially in a country like ours,
where things hardly get reviewed,
I speak of nothing strange or farfetched but our ivory
towers.
What happens to a system that never experience evolution,
reformation and transformation,
it loses its potency to proffer solutions,
though for a few it has helped make them professionals,
but for a greater number,
it is just yet a stage to produce job seekers additional,
how can we continue like this,
this system should not reduce intelligence to grades,
yet the genius the world has seen, we considered dull like
Einstein,
or dropouts like Gates,
let's not forget our own Papa,
who changed the face of the gospel in Africa,
these men no system hold claims,
made them who they are.
These men saw that the mind cannot be held back by the
four walls of a class,
they saw what was outside the glass,
thinking outside the box,
showing that God so blessed the mind with diverse
creativity and invention
that He allowed man take dominion of earth.
Education is good,
but the mind can do much more than learned in the class,
let's stop being cool,
there is so much still to be achieved,
creativity beckons,
not to make people stereotype,
yet only a few reckons,

not to make people stereotype,
but to produce people of different types,
that their contribution to development,
will make a course out of their achievement,
there is no limit to what the mind can do,
yet more often than not it has been reduced to status quo,
if we must see a change in this system,
means must be devised to measure intelligence other than grades,
many have made A's in class,
and failed woefully in life,
many have gone through the system, picked a degree, yet it seem
like a decrease as they are employed by those who didn't have a
degree,
to what end is this quagmire, other than more dilemma,
how can you explain why many graduates never use their
certificates yet they excel in whatever they are doing today,
Calculus Dy, Dx has no life application,
so our education curriculum must find a solution.
How do you explain a Nobel Laureate, finished with a pass after
years in the Ivory Tower, but became world renowned,
the system has lost its core,
its grading system even poor,
it is time to wake up.
The mind should never be reduced to the class,
though it can be trained in a class,
it can look outside the glass,
I believe in education,
but the mind still has more to offer,
besides a few took education to this level,
let's become a part of the few that takes it to the next level,
because I believe we are still scratching the surface of what the
mind can do, and how intelligent we could be,
IQ test was designed by a mind,
it shouldn't be the standard to measuring what other minds can do,
think about it, there is more you and I can do,
we have only limited our minds before now.
School is not the right measure of the excellence of your mind. It
matters what you get out of school, school was not designed for a
certificate but to help you establish a way of life, build an excellent
relationship with other people and refine your mind. The
intelligence of your mind may never be correctly rated in college.
You may get a 'D' in class but don't get a 'D' in life. It is amazing
how we prepare for school exams but fail to prepare for life's
exam. Go to school, be educated not just certified.
I believe in education, but the mind still has more to offer.
