Setting of the remote channel<br />

☞ The same remote channel must be set on the slave flash unit as on the<br />

master or controller flash unit!<br />

• With the remote slave mode activated,<br />

CH 2<br />

CH 2 press the button combination „Select“ until<br />

„CH“ (= remote channel) flashes in the<br />

display.<br />

• Apply the setting desired with the buttons<br />

+ and —. Selection of group 1, 2, 3 or 4<br />

is possible.<br />

The setting takes effect immediately. After about 5 seconds the display stops<br />

flashing and the setting is saved automatically. After activation of the remote<br />

slave mode, „ SL “ appears in the display. In addition, the slave group (GROUP)<br />

selected and the remote channel (CH) are shown.<br />

Testing remote flash mode<br />

• Place the slave flash units in the desired positions for the shot. Use flash unit mounting<br />

foot S60 (optional accessories, see 17) to set up the slave flash unit.<br />

• Wait for all of the flash units involved to become flash ready. Once the slave<br />

flash units are flash ready, the <strong>AF</strong> measuring beam � will blink.<br />

• Press the manual firing button � on the master or controller flash unit to fire a<br />

test flash. The slave flash units will respond in succession, according to slave<br />

group, with a test flash. If a slave unit fails to fire a test flash, check the settings<br />

for remote channel and slave group. Correct the position of the slave<br />

flash unit so that it is able to receive light from the master flash unit.<br />

☞ The flash mode is transmitted automatically by master or controller.<br />

When the flash unit functions as master in the cordless remote system,<br />

the activation of the modelling light also activates the modelling light of<br />

slave flash units<br />

9.2.2 SERVO mode<br />

Servo mode is a simple slave mode in which the slave flash unit always triggers<br />

a flash as soon as it receives a light pulse.<br />

Adjustment procedure for servo flash mode<br />

• Set a mode for the camera flash unit without preflash.<br />

• Press the "Select" button repeatedly until SL<br />

SL<br />

SL blinks on the display.<br />

On<br />

• Press the + button to activate remote slave mode.<br />

• Press the + button again and activate servo mode.<br />

In servo mode, only manual flash mode is possible.<br />

Manual flash mode M is automatically<br />

activated after switching to servo mode. SERVO<br />

• Partial lighting levels can be set with the + and - buttons.<br />

• Wait for the flash-readiness of all connected flash units.<br />

Once the slave flash unit is ready, its <strong>AF</strong> measuring beam � will start blinking.<br />

Slave groups and remote channels can not be set in SERVO mode.<br />

Turn off SERVO flash mode<br />

• Press the button sequence repeatedly until<br />

SERVO blinks on the display.<br />

• Press the – button twice to turn the SERVO<br />

mode off.<br />
