4 Energy saving functions<br />
Your coffee pad machine is equipped with several functions that reduce energy consumption.<br />
4.1 Sleep mode<br />
If you have not used the appliance for about 5 minutes, sleep mode is activated automatically. The<br />
illuminated cross then flashes red slowly.<br />
> To re-establish stand-by, press the button for the desired beverage.<br />
The illuminated cross glows red because the steam generator is heating up. Upon readiness to brew, the<br />
illuminated cross glows white.<br />
If you select cappuccino, latte macchiato or milk foam, the illuminated cross only glows when the steam<br />
generator is ready. Subsequently, you can immediately start the preparation.<br />
4.2 Automatic switch-off<br />
If you have not used the appliance for about 30 minutes, it automatically goes into the Off state. The<br />
power consumption is then less than 0.5 Watts.<br />
Thus, the appliance already conforms to the more stringent requirements of the Ecodesign Directive<br />
2005/32/EC - coming into force from 2013 onwards - with regard to the energy consumption of<br />
electrical household devices in the Off state.
