Spatial Tourism is Already
Knocking at Our Doors
Marc Alban, President of the
European Institute for Spatial Tourism
and ex-Director of the Aerospace
Museum, tells IFTM Daily News that
we can already enjoy spatial tourism
at affordable rates!
There is a misunderstanding on the
definition of spatial tourism. The term does
not describe only sub-orbital flights for
billionaires. Spatial tourism is already there
such as visiting the Space City of Toulouse
for €20, spending a weekend on the Pic
du Midi, watching stars or in the desert or
even getting an experience of a spatial ride
at Disneyland Paris ‘Space mountain’. The
EIST wants to federate all of this and prove
that spatial tourism can start as low as €20
and provide intense and unique emotions.
Our mission also consists of communicating
and creating conditions for the development
of European Spatial Tourism (space aircraft
and European Astroport). With the idea of
an Astroport for France around 2018, which
would also be a centre for touristic activities.
Is IFTM-Top Resa a first answer to this
professional approach towards the trade?
We want to make the tourism trade aware of
the new activities linked to spatial tourism
as we can see across the Atlantic. We want
to promote ourselves to regions capable of
welcoming theme parks about space.
:::: Le tourisme spatial
L'IETS
IL S'AGIT D'ÉVEILLER
L'ATTENTION DES
PROFESSIONNELS DU TOURISME
À CETTE NOUVELLE ACTIVITÉ
TOURISTIQUE QUI SE DÉVELOPPE
DEPUIS PLUSIEURS ANNÉES DE
L’AUTRE CÔTÉ DE L’ATLANTIQUE
Tourisme Spatial)
WE WANT TO MAKE THE
TOURISM TRADE AWARE OF THE
NEW ACTIVITIES LINKED TO
SPATIAL TOURISM AS WE CAN SEE
ACROSS THE ATLANTIC
IFTM Top Resa – Springboard
for Air Austral’s New Image
New identity, new products on board: Air Austral, Reunion
Island’s home carrier, has unveiled its renovated image
at IFTM Top Resa, an initiative to be run in parallel to the
dynamic presence of Reunion Island during the show.
After the restructuring, comes
the time of renewal. For Marie
Joseph Malé, CEO of Air Austral,
Reunion Island’s official carrier, a
positive financial balance allows
the airline to modernise its image
and improve its product. "We
want to offer a product where
our sense of hospitality remains
at the heart of our service, while
reaffirming our strong link to
Reunion, our ‘DNA’," he says.
By June 2015, all aircraft will
carry large photos of Reunion
on their tails. The first revamped
plane will land in Paris early
December, while the new
products- especially seats and
gastronomy - will be made
available throughout 2015.
"We are delighted to support
this campaign. I’m curious to
see the results on the Air Austral
network", says Ariane Loupy,
Director of La Reunion Tourism
Board.
A new image for Air Austral,
and a giant, colourful stand for
the island: IFTM Top Resa is at
the centre of the communication
strategy of Reunion island and its
airline!
:::: IFTM Top Resa, tremplin de
la nouvelle image d’Air Austral
Nouvelle identité, nouveaux produits à bord, la compagnie
réunionnaise Air Austral a dévoilé à IFTM Top Resa
renouveau. Pour le P-DG de la
compagnie réunionnaise Air
Austral, Marie Joseph Malé,
le retour à l’équilibre permet
à la compagnie de moderniser
son image et d’améliorer son
produit, face à la concurrence.
"Nous souhaitons offrir un
produit où le sens de l’accueil
reste le cœur de notre service
tout en réaffirmant notre
attachement à la Réunion,
notre ADN", explique-t-il.
D’ici juin 2015, les appareils
de la flotte arboreront sur leur
fuselage des photos géantes
de la Réunion. Le premier
avion relooké atterrira à Paris
début décembre, tandis que les
nouveaux produits – fauteuils
et gastronomie notamment –
seront intégrés tout au long
de 2015. "Nous sommes ravis
de soutenir cette campagne et
curieux d’en voir les résultats
sur le réseau d’Air Austral",
indique Ariane Loupy, Directrice
du Comité Régional du Tourisme
de La Réunion.
