Students are required to choose between two tracks. The choice of the AFP track is only
available to students from this optional program (and incoming students with a
quantitative background and a good command in French).
o The Financial Market (FM) Track is intended for students who are interested in
careers related to capital markets. It pursues lectures of the minor “Financial Markets”
of the Finance Concentration in FA (OAP Finance – Dominante Marchés Financiers).
o The Advanced Finance Program (AFP) Track is intended for students from the
AFP program. It consists of all the FM track lectures + lectures in Quantitative
Finance.
The overall program is intensive (more than 150 hours in roughly two months and more than
200 hours for AFP students). Most of the lectures are taught in French with some held in
English. More than 50% of the lectures are taught by high-skilled practitioners.
Students graduating from this program will feel at ease to begin their professional careers in
functions such as:
o Broker
o Trader
o Portfolio Manager
o Sales in Trading Rooms or Investment Management firms
o Risk Manager
o Financial Product Structurer
o Quantitative Analyst
o Middle officer
o Consultant
The OP program assumes that entering students have a thorough understanding of the Finance
Concentration (OAP Finance – Dominantes Marchés Financiers) courses. These prerequisites
can be studied in the following textbooks:
o “Options, Futures and Other Derivatives”, John Hull: Chapters 1 to 18
o “Investments”, Zvi Bodie, Alex Kane, and Alan Marcus
professors will assume a complete knowledge of this material.
