The social and economic welfare in the western societies has pushed the person towards
individualism, the social and ethical ties have loosened up, people’s tolerance and sense of responsibility
have died out, while the’ me-feeling’ and ’abundance feeling’ has strengthened.
After the period of the economic recession of 2008 it became certain, that the individuals cannot
count on anybody, they are left alone, nobody tells them what should be done, because everybody is busy
with themselves: the government is concentrating on how to take the 10th skin off of those companies,
which burn their candles on both sides; banks deal with the consolidation, while big companies are busy
with minimalising costs and maximalising profit.
Based on our culture, traditions, education and values we are bond to get together, we would like
to help each other, we want to be solid, but right now this does not seem to be a good idea, as if these
values would not comply with the European values. Developing local products, local initiatives, local
producers, regional development can serve as good social and political marketing message, but in reality
nobody really wants it, because no taxes are paid and no real profit is made.
