Dr. Bartók István rektor: Rektori köszöntő
Dear Reader!
It is a great pleasure to introduce the Proceedings of our annual event on the Year 2011
Celebration of Hungarian Science at Edutus College. The Conference dealt with the topic of
“Harmony – the Science in the Economy and Society” according to the suggestions of the Hungarian
Academy of Sciences. This conference was the 8 th in a series at the Edutus College and was organised
in co-operation with the Komárom-Eszetrgom County Organization of the John von Neumann
Computer Society .
This year we had the pleasure to enjoy the lectures of such distinguished scientists as
Professor Sándor Kerekes of Corvinus University Budapest, an internationally renowned expert in the
fields of Environment Science and Corporate Social Responsibility, who delivered us his findings on
the social and economic challenges of scientific research. The second lecture of the plenary session by
Dr. Péter Péchy of Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Institute of Physical Chemistry gave an
overview on the development of dye-sensitized solar cells with the application of light-absorbing dyes.
While the third lecture, presented by Professor Csilla Jandala of Edutus College investigated the
conformity of higher education and enterprises compared in Hungary and internationally.
Due to the high number of interested Hungarian and international participants we were able to
organise five conference sessions, out of which three were held at our Tatabánya campus, while two at
the Budapest campus.
The conference sessions held at the Tatabánya campus dealt with the topics of: “Local Food Chains
and Sustainable Rural development”, Present and Future” and “Innovation”, respectively. While we
were having two sessions on “Tourism” and “Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” at the Budapest
campus.
I would like to thank the session chairs: Dr. Pál Gubán, Dr. Mihály Vörös, József Fűrész, Dr. János
Hajtó, Dr. Csilla Jandala, dr. Erika Garaj and all the organizers.
